ASAP - Active Support Against Poverty
Advocate
Prince George
In my early years I worked as a youth counselor starting out with Boys and Girls Club and then became a youth behavior counselor with Tomorrow Top Kids working with troubled youth who experience trauma. Continued in the non-profit sector working as a coordinator for Vancouver Good Food box program and then continued part time as a Respite Worker for high risk teens with trauma and special needs.
I then fell onto hard times, experienced homelessness, until I was able to land back on my feet. I worked as a security coordinator for many years while attending college part time evenings. I met my wife and started working towards a family.
After completing my Criminology diploma, I moved from Vancouver to the Prince George with my wife and children and started working at Active Support Against Poverty as a Poverty Advocate in 2017. I have been in advocate for 4 years and cannot see myself doing anything else.
I am now a father of 3 amazing children and spend most of free time with them. I love to Hike, Mountain Bike and paint on those rainy days.
