Child and Youth Legal Centre Child and Youth Advocate
Alyssa is the Advocate at the Society of Children and Youth of BC's Child and Youth Legal Centre (CYLC). At CYLC they provide free and independent legal assistance to children and youth in family law, child protection and human rights issues. The scope of assistance ranges from information on their rights/options, advocacy, legal advice and full representation. Alyssa graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2018, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and Social Science with a specialization in Criminal and Social Justice, along with a Certificate in Legal Studies. Alyssa came to SCY of BC with a background working in police-based victim services and crisis intervention, as well as support work for Indigenous youth. Alyssa is passionate about lending her voice to vulnerable persons and is constantly seeking to expand her knowledge to further specialize in Human Rights, Advocacy, and Law.
